Eco Park Stadium Competition Gianni Botsford Architects high res_Page_085

Proposal for the world’s first all timber football stadium. Internal finishes of all the facilities will carry this materiality throughout, giving a cohesive whole to the experience. The stadium is organised with a simple and repetitive form that gives great flexibility and allows stands to be built as capacity is required to be increased. Prefabricated construction provides the quickest, most sustainable, and most controlled form of construction for a project of this scale, and allows it to grow and expand in quick steps when it is required to. The undulating roof is optimised structurally but is also designed to visually reduce the scale of the building in this sensitive environment. A series of trees to sit under to watch football in a relaxing and non-aggressive environment.
